Il en découle un environnement mobilier spécifique. L’étude des bureaux appelle donc l’étude de l’articulation entre espace, poste de travail et culture matérielle. Les éléments de la culture matérielle renseignent ainsi sur l’organisation même du travail, sur la hiérarchisation des espaces et permettent également d’observer les pratiques hors travail. Il s’agit ici de saisir la façon de «faire sien» l’espace de travail, de comprendre les stratégies de bienVetre développées par les employés, les moyens mis en oeuvre pour s’adapter, contourner la norme imposée par les instances hiérarchiques, et finalement créer d’autres usages qui se figent éventuellement dans de nouvelles normes.
