У статті розглядається проблема малих річок, їх поступового зникнення, дефіцит із чистої прісної води. За приклад взято окрему річку Мокрий Ізюмець на Харківщині, про яку існують згадки майже тисячолітнього періоду. Сальниця – літописна річка України не відображена на жодній географічній карті. Вчені, краєзнавці та дослідники до цих пір ведуть дебати з приводу того, з якою з сучасних річок її слід ототожнити. Існує безліч описаних безпідставних гіпотез її місцезнаходження. Вперше наводяться фактичні матеріали для підтвердження однієї з гіпотез знаходження річки Сальниці. The problems of small rivers, the problems of their gradual disappearance, first of all, are the problems of humankind’s disappearance of pure fresh water. An example of such rivers is the separate wet river Izyumets in Kharkiv region. The choice fell on this river as it has been mentioned for almost a millennium. Sal’nitsa is a chronicle river of Ukraine not displayed on any geographical map. Scientists, local lore scientists and researchers are still debating as to which of the modern rivers it should be identified with. There are many unjustified hypotheses for its location. For the first time, factual evidence is provided to confirm one of the hypotheses for finding the Sal’nitsa River.
