Вернадського, частково у відділі рукописів Бібліотеки Польської Академії наук і Академії Мистецтв у Кракові (Польща) та Бібліотеки Ягеллонського університету, вперше встановлюються важливі факти з соціально-економічної та військово-політичної історії України сер. ХVІІ – ХVІІІ ст., про діяльність судових органів, про повсякденне життя українського народу. Важливими є документи, що стосуються такого маловивченого регіону, як Стародубщина.
The purpose of this publication is to introduce into scientific circulation important documents on the history of the Hetmanate of the 17th–18th c., discovered mainly in the archives of Kyiv, partly in Krakow (Poland). These are various business documents (bills of sale, complaints, reports, etc.). In addition, the information capabilities of these sources are analysed, and especially important evidence is identified. The scientific novelty is closely related to the above goal, since for the first time archival, non-print sources stored in the Institute of manuscripts of the Vernadsky National library of Ukraine, partially in the manuscripts department of the Library of the Polish Academy of sciences and Academy of Arts in Krakow (Poland) and the Library of the Jagiellonian university are introduced into scientific circulation, and important facts from the socio-economic and military-political history of Ukraine in the seventeenth - eighteenth centuries are established for the first time, the activities of the judiciary, and the everyday life of the Ukrainian people. The documents related to such a little-studied region as Starodubshchyna are also important.
