Description
Summary:A number of potential advances of infrared and terahertz technologies in application mainly to biomedicine are shortly discussed. In spite of the fact that there are a number of well-established imaging and spectroscopic techniques in application to biomedicine, there exist some problems where IR and THz technologies are the challenging technologies that can provide information not available from other techniques. E.g., they can be applied in cases where there is a need to improve the surgical removal of cancer, strictly locating tumor margins when conservation of normal tissue is needed.
