fulltext Анотації 705 АNNOTATIONS Larysa Levchenko HISTORY OF THE US NATIONAL ARCHIVES IN PUBLICATIONS BY AMERICAN AUTHORS The article contains a historiographical survey of the publications by American authors on history and practices of the US National Archives, Presidential libraries, federal document centers, National Historical Publica- tions and Records Commission, US Federal Register, Electronic Records Archives (ERA). In the author’s opinion, the publications in question are, primarily, a massive and significant source base for further research of history, practices and role of the US National Archives with regard to preservation of historical documentary heritage. The publication will serve as a useful resource for Ukrainian faculty members, students, researchers, anyone interested in history of the US archives, history and archival affairs. Ivan Havryliuk WLADYSLAW DOMINIK ZASLAWSKI (1616–1656): MAGNATE, POLITICIAN, COMMANDER The article, based on a massive array of sources, deals with the life and work of an outstanding and rich magnate of the 1st half of the 17th century in Rich Pospolyta, the second Ostroh Ordynat, Polish nobleman of Ruthenian stock Wladyslaw Dominik Zaslawski. It sheds light on his role and place in the political and military life of the Polish-Lithuanian state in the 1630–1650s, including the stormy events in Khmelnychchyna. In addition to criticism and analysis of big theoretical and practical mistakes made by the reporters, the publication contains new proven data. Анотації 713 Tetiana Vilkul «THE EXODUS» BOOK OF CHRONOGRAPHIC EDITION (THE JUDAIC CHRONOGRAPH AND TRINITY PENTATEUCH) The complete or so-called «chetii» translation of the Octateuch is dated, apparently, by the early 10th century in Bulgaria. The manuscript is known to have three versions. The article covers the characteristic features of the chronographic version of the Exodus Book, which exists in five manuscripts of the Judaic Chronograph and Trinity (Troitsky) Pentateuch. The given Exodus version is a valuable source for a new initial translation and, thus, for essential updating of numerous Bible quotations in Old Slavonic and Old Russian translations. His «Notes» provide details of his private and public life, family relations, his interest to Karamanli religious literature, Urum folklore, folk medicine and Italian. Based on the 1580 record books of the Lutsk Hrodsky Court, it offers a variety of items for carrying money, their specific use by different social strata in various economic and real-life situations.
