At present thanks to the frontal scientific processing of these lead bulls it is possible to reconstruct many unknown before rulers names of Cherson and its neighbourhood. In fact, writing sources do not include considerable information and are limited barely a few ten of mentions of period of middle ages.
The article reveals the basic types of seals leaders of medieval Cherson — archons and stratigs that are saved among the archive molibdoboules of this city.
Archive of medieval Сherson seals — important source for research of city culture, political situation, diplomacy and economy. Seals give a researcher not only possibility to reconstruct a hierarchy in city, but also allow to observe the activity of office work and in particular to study nobile families, who were on higher administrative positions of city. Approximately, from over forty names, which a researcher analyzes studying Cherson higher administration — ten of them are presented in the article. These bulls at one time were of archons: Grigoros, Grigorios, Constantine, and also strategosos: Theophaneos, John, John Protevon, Epiphaneos, George Tsula, Constantine and Theodoseos. Findings are made on the basis of medieval Cherson archive materials, which are kept in O. Sheremetiev’s private collection (Kyiv). In particular among the published seals there are such ones, onestamp variants of which were published before, but with errors. In the article these errors were explained, corrected.
Метою статті є продемонструвати основні типи печаток керівників середньовічного Херсона — архонтів та стратигів з Архіву Херсона. Окрім цього, виправити раніше зроблені помилки при публікації та запровадити до наукового обігу нові, невідомі до того булли. На сьогоднішній день фронтальне наукове опрацювання цих свинцевих булл уможливило реконструкцію багатьох раніше невідомих імен правителів Херсона та його округи. Адже письмові джерела, на превеликий жаль, не містять значних відомостей і обмежені заледве кількома десятками згадок періоду середньовіччя.
У статті подано основні типи сфрагісів керівників середньовічного Херсонa — архонтів та стратигів, що збереглись серед молівдовулів архіву цього міста. Архів печаток середньовічного Херсонa — важливе джерело для дослідження міської культури, політичного становища, дипломатії та економіки. Печатки надають дослідникові не лише можливість реконструювати ієрархію в місті, але й дозволяють побачити ступінь активності діловодства і зокрема познайомитись із важливими родами, що знаходились на вищих адмніністративних посадах міста. Приблизно, з понад чотирьох десятків імен, якими оперує дослідник при вивчені вищої адміністрації Херсонa — десять подано у статті. Булли ці свого часу належали архонтам: Григорі, Григорію, Константину, а також стратигам: Феофану, Іоанну, Іоанну Противону, Епіфанію, Георгію Цулі, Константину та Феодосію. Розвідка побудована на основі матеріалів Архіву середньовічного Херсона, що зберігаються у приватній колекції О. Шереметьєва (Київ). Зокрема серед опублікованих печаток присутні й такі, одноштемпельні варіанти яких публікувались раніше, але з помилками. У статті ці помилки були пояснені виправлені.
