У лекції розглянуто питання щодо використання пухлинних маркерів (ПМ) для вирішення наступних завдань: скринінг онкологічних захворювань; диференціальна діагностика раку і доброякісних процесів; оцінка поширеності процесу в онкологічних хворих (у поєднанні з методами променевої діагностики);
прогноз; оцінка ефективності терапії; динамічне спостереження з метою
раннього виявлення рецидивів і генералізації захворювання. Як приклад, описано сучасний алгоритм дослідження ПМ з метою діагностики, прогнозу
та оцінки ефективності лікування хворих на рак молочної залози.
