Але їхній масштаб та сутність зазнали серйозної якісної зміни – вони стали глобальними. Саме проблема людини є джерелом та фокусом усіх глобальних проблем сучасності, а також – ідеї сталого розвитку.
Modern man lives in a whirlpool of events and problems. The second half of the 20th century was characterized by far-reaching social and economic shifts and the start of scientific and technological revolution, and consequently was a time when problems arose that had been previously unknown in human history. The point is not that before this the world had not seen difficulties and conflicts of ecological, resource, demographic, and the similar character, and these were present before. Instead, their scale and essence have undergone major qualitative changes, as the phenomena have become global. Just a man problem is a source and a focus of all the contemporary global problems, a source and a focus of sustainable development idea as well.
