Description
Summary:The first part of the research deals with the issue of the definition of the notion "objective (or real) picture of the world", "cultural (or conceptual) picture of the world", "linguistic picture of the world" and their correlation. Further the correlation between the language and culture is scrutinized. The system of values, social morality, the attitude to the world, people, other nations are pre-served in the idiomacity of the language, i.e. in that layer which is considered to be nationally specific. Idioms, proverbs and say-ings depict descriptively the style of life, geographical position, history and traditions of this or that community united by one cul-ture. The study of the idiomatic phraseology within the linguistic picture of the world assists to overcome the problems of interna-tional and cross-cultural communication.
