Пересмотрено систематическое положение морской рыбьей пиявки Heptacyclus albus Epstein et S. Utevsky, 1996 из Северной Пацифики. Такие диагностические признаки, как маленькая передняя присоска, слабая пигментация и прозрачность тела, а также особенности биологии — локализация на истмусе рыб рода Myoxocephalus, позволяют отнести эту пиявку к роду Oceanobdella и рассматривать O. microstoma из Северной Атлантики и смежных районов Арктики в качестве ее ближайшего родственника. O. microstoma и O. alba могут служить примером видообразования, вызванного географической изоляцией. The systematic position of the marine fish leech Heptacyclus albus Epstein et S. Utevsky, 1996 from the North Pacific is reconsidered. Such diagnostic features as small anterior sucker, weak pigmentation and transparent body, as well as peculiarities of its biology (attaching to the isthmus of the fishes of the genus Myoxocephalus), allow to transfer this species to the genus Oceanobdella and consider O. microstoma from the North Atlantic and adjacent regions of the Arctic as its closest relative. Oceanobdella alba comb. n. and O. microstoma may be considered an example of speciation by geographical isolation.
