Description
Summary:A generalized approach to the appreciation of “traditional” mathematical models of earthquake
focus is analyzed. It is assumed that the system of equations for model parameters can be
formulated. If the analytical form of the system is known, a mapping of the set of parameters
to the set of “observables” is determined. The properties of the mapping can serve, as it is
asserted, a characteristic of the model. The images of regions in the space of parameters (“maps
of mappings”) allow one to visualize an information about the number of possible solutions of the
system as a function of a point in the space of “observables” and about a generalized “response”
of the system (the loss of solutions, and a change of the number of solutions) as a consequence
of the variation of experimental data. The results can be used for the computation of building structures in seismoactive zones.
