The author aims to change the stereotypes of raising of multinational population in Kyiv. Censuses of population of 1959, 1989, 2001 are analysed. The research considers 3 levels, i. e. ethnic composition in general, the structure of ethnic minorities, and the structure of minorities other than Russian. According to their data the conclusion is made that a tendency towards ethnic homogeneity has shaped.
