The International Conference ”Skorokhod Space. 50 years on” was organized by the
Institute of Mathematics of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, Taras Shevchenko
National University, Mykhailo Dragomanov National Pedagogical University, National
Technical University of Ukraine (KPI), Ukrainian Mathematical Society. The Confer-
ence took place in Kyiv, on 17-23 June, 2007. The aim of the conference was to provide
the scientists from different countries with the possibility to discuss the results of their
recent investigations and to analyze the new trends in the fields founded by A.V. Sko-
rokhod about 50 years ago. The main topics of the Conference were: the method of
a single probability space; topologies on the Skorokhod space; the Skorokhod reflecting
problem; measures in infinite dimensional spaces; the Skorokhod embedding problem; ex-
tended stochastic integrals; Markov processes and stochastic differential equations; limit
theorems.
About 140 scientists from 22 countries took part in the Conference. Five plenary
and 21 section sessions of the Conference were held in the halls and rooms of Taras
Shevchenko National University.
Financial support of the Conference was given by the corporation “Industrial Union
of Donbass”, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and some private persons. The
Organizing Committee is grateful to all of them for their support.
The issues no. 1 and 2 of the volume 14 (30) of Theory of Stochastic Processes contain
the papers presented by the participants of the Conference.
