Description
Summary:It is found that, among mixtures of transition metal (Cu, Mn, Ni, Zn) oxides and cerium oxide, MOx−CeO2 compositions reveal the maximal activity in the processes of oxidation of CO. They overwhelm both similar samples prepared by means of other procedures and expensive catalysts based on noble metals. The most successful catalysts have been checked out in the processes of purifying hydrogen from CO admixtures and oxidation of typical volatile organic compounds. It is shown that, in these materials, a part of cupric oxide remains amorphous, and active centers of a catalyst are formed due to the electron density transfer both from cerium and copper ions to oxygen.
