Описывается новый вид из рода Oedostethus LeConte, 1853 с Севера европейской части России: Oe. similarius sp. n., по окраске и габитусу близкий к Oe. curatus Candeze, но отличающийся по форме и строению переднегрудного сегмента, более длинными усиками и формой вершин парамер эдеагуса. Приведена таблица для определения 5 распространенных на Севере европейской части России видов.
