На территории Пакистана (провинция Белуджистан) собраны четыре вида медведиц: Axiopoena maura (Eichwald, 1830), Lacydes incurvata (Ebert, 1973), Utetheisa pulchella (Linnaeus, 1758) и Nebrarctia transversa (Moore, 1879). L. incurvata для территории Пакистана приводится впервые. Уточнены ареалы распространения вышеупомянутых видов и их систематическая принадлежность.

Lepidoptera fauna of the territory at the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan remains one of the
poorly studied areas in Eurasia. In 2005, the authors collected moths in the northern part of the Balochistan
territory. Material is deposited in the collection of the first author.
Axiopoena maura (Eichwald, 1830)

The species was recorded from Pakistan only once (as A. fluviatilis Swinhoe) from
Quetta (Balochistan Province). In the revision of the genus Axiopoena Ménetries,
Dubatolov (1989) studied male genitalia of its type specimen and found it to be con-
specific with A. maura Eichwald. The species is widespread in Eastern Iran (Dubatolov,
Zahiri, 2005). The authors (unpublished data), observed moths of this species during
July and August, but all specimens from August were strongly damaged.
Lacydes incurvata (Ebert, 1973)

This is the first record from Pakistan, and the second record since description. The
species have been described from the southern slopes of the Spin Range in Paktia,
South-Eastern Afghanistan, not far from the Pakistan border. The new locality is locat-

ed more than 300 km to the south. Probably, this species is distributed within the whole
mountain area along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan between Quetta and
Peshawar.
Utetheisa pulchella (Linnaeus, 1758)

One of the most widespread species in South-Western Asia. Swinhoe (1885)
recorded this species from Quetta as Deiopeia thyter Butler.
Nebrarctia transversa (Moore, 1879)

The species is widespread in mountain territories from the Pamirs in Tajikistan
through Afghanistan to North Pakistan (Dubatolov, 1996). The new record is the
southernmost for the species. It was transferred to the genus Nebrarctia Watson, 1985
by Dubatolov (2005).

Discussion
Four species of the subfamily Arctiinae have been recorded in West Pakistan, two
of them, Axiopoena maura and Utetheisa pulchella are widespread in Eastern Iran and
Afghanistan; other two species, Lacydes incurvata and Nebrarctia transversa are com-
mon with the Afghanistan Arctiinae fauna only. All four mentioned species belong to
the Palearctic fauna; no true Oriental or Paleotropic species have been collected near
Zhob. Taking into account distribution of the Oriental and Paleotropic species in Iran
(Dubatolov, Zahiri, 2005), an assumption might be offered that such species occur in
West Pakistan further in the south, along the Makran Coast. So, we should state that
the territory of Zhob belongs to the Palearctic Region.

L. incurvata is recorded from Pakistan for the first time. Distribution and systematic position of all mentioned species are discussed. На территории Пакистана (провинция Белуджистан) собраны четыре вида медведиц: Axiopoena maura (Eichwald, 1830), Lacydes incurvata (Ebert, 1973), Utetheisa pulchella (Linnaeus, 1758) и Nebrarctia transversa (Moore, 1879). L. incurvata для территории Пакистана приводится впервые. Уточнены ареалы распространения вышеупомянутых видов и их систематическая принадлежность.
