The results of studies on Dianthus cruentus Griseb. biomorphological features in the Donetsk Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are summarized in the paper. It is established that this species is characterized by complete growth and development cycle in the course of introduction that is indicative of its adaptation to the regional conditions. Seed propagation has proved optimal for cultivated D. cruentus. Introduction success is evaluated and also the potential of this species introduction in the landscape gardening in the south-east of Ukraine.
