В представленном докладе освещены этапы развития
ИПКиК НАН Украины со времени его основания в 1972
году и до настоящих дней, затронуты вопросы перспек-
тив института. Акцентируется внимание на судьбо-
носной встрече в начале 70-х годов ХХ века двух
неординарных людей – Б.Е. Веркина и Н.С. Пушкаря,
которая фактически предопределила создание абсолют-
но уникального учреждения. Большое внимание этой
инициативе, всесторонняя поддержка на самых трудных
начальных этапах ее реализации были оказаны Президен-
том НАН Украины Б.Е. Патоном.
Отмечается, что со времени основания институт был
и остается единственным научным учреждением в СССР,
Украине и мире, осуществляющим комплексные фунда-
ментальные и прикладные работы в области медицины,
ветеринарии, сельского хозяйства, биотехнологий,
микробиологической промышленности и т. д. Начиная
свою деятельность в составе 47 человек и 6 научных
отделов, за 40 лет численность сотрудников института
выросла до 341 и 15 отделов. Научные направления
исследований были заложены их основателями, к
которым можно отнести таких «классиков» крио-
биологии и криомедицины, как Н.С. Пушкарь, А.М. Белоус,
А.А. Цуцаева, В.А. Моисеев, М.Г. Шенберг, Б.М.
Даценко, В.М. Чередниченко, Ю.A. Иткин, В.И. Митасов
и др. До настоящего времени стратегически важными
остаются такие научные направления, как исследование
механизмов криоконсервирования и криозащиты биоло-
гических объектов, создание эффективных криопротек-
торов, использование холода в медицине, разработка
технических средств и аппаратуры для его применения в
клинической практике и криоконсервирования биологи-
ческих объектов.
Особое внимание в докладе уделяется одному из важ-
ных этапов развития института с 1983 по 2011 годы, когда
им руководил академик НАН Украины В.И. Грищенко.
Человек широчайшей эрудиции, который генерировал
массу идей, часть которых нам еще только предстоит
воплотить в жизнь. Подчеркивается значимость сформу-
лированного и сформированного им еще в начале 80-х
годов ХХ века направления, именуемого как «криобио-
логия стволовой клетки», остающегося и сейчас
стержневым направлением научных и прикладных работ
нашего института.
В докладе также сфокусировано внимание на работе
и достижениях отделов и института в целом на современ-
ном этапе его развития, обсуждаются вопросы перспек-
тивных исследований, затрагиваются темы, имеющие
отношение к научно-организационной работе института,
работе кафедры ЮНЕСКО, а также научного и прак-
тического взаимодействия с МНЦ НАН, АМН и МОЗ
Украины и ряд других вопросов.
The report presents the developmental stages of the
Institute for Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of
the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since its
foundation in 1972 to the present day, the prospects of the
institute are specified. It is focused to the fateful meeting at
the beginning of the 70s of the twentieth century of two
very extraordinary people – B.Ye. Verkin and N.S. Pushkar,
who actually determined the creation of totally unique
institution. Great understanding of the initiative, whole-
hearted support of the most difficult initial stages of its
implementation was provided by the President of the
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine B.Ye. Paton.
It is noted that since its establishment the institute was
and has remained the only research institution in the USSR,
Ukraine and the world, performing comprehensive funda-
mental and applied research in the field of medicine, vete-
rinary medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, microbiological
industry, etc. Starting its activity from 47 persons and six
academic departments, during 40 years the Institute has
grown to 341 persons and 15 departments. Scientific research
areas were established by their founders, including such
‘classics’ of cryobiology and cryomedicine as N.S. Pushkar,
A.M. Belous, A.A. Tsutsayeva, V.A. Moiseyev, M.G. Shen-
berg, B.M. Datsenko, V.M. Cherednichenko, Yu.A. Itkin,
V.I. Mitasov and others. Till now there have been remained
the strategically important research areas such as the study
of cryopreservation and cryoprotection mechanisms of
biological objects, effective cryoprotectants, the use of cold
in medicine, the development of technical apparatuses and
equipment to be applied in clinical practice and for cryo-
preservation of biological objects.
Special attention is paid to one of the most important
stages in the development of the Institute since 1983 to
2011, when it was headed by the academician of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V.I. Grischenko. The man
of great learning, who generated a lot of ideas, some of
those we have yet to implement in future. There is empha-
sized the importance of posed and shaped by him in the
early 80s of XX century the direction, referred to as ‘stem
cell cryobiology’ being even now for our institute the core
of fundamental and applied researches.
The report also focuses the attention to the work and
achievements of the departments and institution as a whole
at the present stage of its development, and discusses future
researches to be performed. The issues related to scientific
and organizational work of the Institute, the activity of the
UNESCO Chair, scientific and practical cooperation with
the Interdepartmental Scientific Center of the National
Academy of Sciences, Academy of Medical Sciences and
the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and a number of other
issues are under discussion.
