The article deals with the verbal idioms development processes in the sphere of fishing. The author defined the peculiarity of phraseologisms of this field namely: the coexistence of free prototype word-combinatines alongside with them, constant actualisation of the inner form of the latter, their understandable metaforisation process. Besides the terminological word-combinations of fishing have been examined, the basic type of their components semantical connection, utterances with syntagmatic connection has been determined, when a verb needs necessary component, expressed by a noun in the Objective Case. The verbs themselves in the word-combinatines are the verbs of common usage which are the names of essential actions and processes and the like. The way of motivation processes of fishing idioms forming, the semantic evolution of both components and idioms on the whole have been analysed. The author also assumes the factors which influence the areal differentiation of verbal components in the fishing idioms.
