В честь этого юбилея ЦИПИН им. Г.М.Доброва НАН Украины провел очередные Добровские чтения, а редакция журнала "Наука и науковедение" почтила память замечательного ученого переизданием его статьи "О предвидении развития науки". Публикуемая статья примечательна во многих отношениях. Впервые изданная 50 лет назад (1964) в журнале "Вопросы философии", она стала первой работой Г.М.Доброва, специально посвященной проблемам научно-технического прогнозирования. The article, earlier published in the journal “Problems of Philosophy”, No. 10, 1964, discusses a range of methodological issues of forecasting in natural and technical fields, with emphasis on applications of mathematical methods and statistical data. The problem of the limit on science development is elaborated, with robust arguments against the so called “theory of saturation” in science, “inner repressive effects” or “ending of problems for science”, and showing that science development follows an upward curve rather than an ideal upward linear tendency. Trends in science development, resulting from computerization of research functions and change in education and training methods are shown. It is argued that because an analysis of science development by statistical methods would obviously be insufficient, more effective and appropriate appears the method for analysis of statistics on the related classical triad “production – technology – science”. The problem of measuring individual researcher’s productivity is discussed from the publication activity perspective. According to the author, publication activity, although a useful formal indicator of the researcher’s productivity, cannot be regarded as an adequate measure of the researcher’s contribution in science. Arguments are given in support of the higher role of teamwork in science with the respective growth in coauthored works, due to the immensely increasing flows of scientific information. ru Центр досліджень науково-технічного потенціалу та історії науки ім.
