connected with the necessity of researchers’ special attention to the process of the
empirical data documentation. The necessity of developing an integrated software
which could support all the stages of empirical social research is emphasized. The
experience of social data archive formation and functioning amassed throughout the
world is analyzed. The author also discusses the work done at the Institute of Sociology,
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in forming a sociological archive and data
bank for social studies.
