Данная статья посвящена актуальным проблемам изучения фразеологизмов,
 употребляемых в публицистических периодических изданиях, таких как TheGuardian, TheIndependent,
 Times, FinancialTimes, а также видеоматериалах политической направленности. В дискурсивном
 аспекте изучаются современная политическая речь, особенности семантики и природы политических
 текстов; рассматриваются функции дискурсивных фразеологизмов в контексте политической
 коммуникации.
 Ключевые слова: фразеологическая единица,политический дискурс, экспрессивность, оценочность,
 архисема. Подана стаття присвячена актуальним проблемам вивчення фразеологізмів, що
 використовуються у публіцистичних виданнях, таких як TheGuardian, TheIndependent, Times,
 FinancialTimes, а також відеоматеріалах політичної спрямованості. У дискурсивному аспекті
 вивчаються сучасна політична мова, особливості семантики та природи політичних текстів;
 розглядаються функції дискурсивних фразеологізмів у контексті політичної комунікації.
 Ключові слова: фразеологічна одиниця, політичний дискурс, експресивність, оцінювальність,архісема. This article is concerned with burning issues of studying phraseological units, used in publicistic
 periodicals, such as The Guardian, The Independent, Times, Financial Times, and also in video records of
 political trend. The analysis of phraseological units, idioms and clichés reflects the originality, traditional
 lifestyle and means of persuasion of the national politicians and the state machinery. Phraseological units, as
 well as words, are always used in order to manipulate the public consciousness. Political realities quite often
 may be distinguished by the use of emotional-colored phraseological units expressing positive or negative
 feelings. Phraseological units in the political discourse have ideological and evaluative part, which allows not
 only to name the phenomena or object but also to characterize it, to form an opinion about it, to impose personal
 understanding as the only possible. Using estimating phraseological units, politicians, instead of proving
 something, instill to the listeners that their ideas are fair and intensions are pure. They act with a method of
 emotionally expressive pressure. The conclusion is drawn that the main aim of politicians is to create persuasive
 picture of the better structure of the world and convince nation of the willingness to cooperate with common
 people for common objectives.
