the article actual is the question whether such cultural-behavioral and language tendency as political
correctness is a necessity or it is an artificially created problem carried to an absurdity. The analysis of
contextual estimation of politically correct words reflects the modern relation of representatives of society to the
euphemisation of language, phenomenon of political correctness. Novelty of work consists in development of an
analysis algorithm of estimation of politically correct words, in identification of types of an assessment of these
lexical units in various text types, definitions of the relation of representatives of the modern world to a
phenomenon of political correctness. The aim of this research is the analysis of estimation of politically correct
lexicon of the modern English.
Methods of research used in article. The descriptive method, allowing to study and systematize literature in a
considered perspective; the method of the distributive analysis which is applying to allocation of the main theme
groups of politically correct lexicon and euphemisms; method of the component analysis necessary for
allocation of components of value; the method of text analysis used with a research objective of category of
political correctness and an euphemisation at text level; the method of the lingvo-stylistical analysis used for
studying of estimation of politically correct lexicon and euphemisms.
