Статья посвящена изучению примеров использования идей классической литературы в постмодернистских романах. В работе рассматривается неовикторианский текст романа- дописывания «Sanditon», прослеживается интертекстуальный диалог с викторианской литературой, определяется его специфика на композиционно-сюжетном, идейно-тематическом и художественно- образном уровнях организации текста. Ключевые слова: интертекстуальность, интертекстуальный диалог, неовикторианский роман, роман- дописывание, автор. Стаття присвячена вивченню використання ідей класичної літератури в сучасних творах. У роботі розглядається неовікторіанський текст роману-дописування «Sanditon», простежується інтертекстуальний діалог з вікторіанською літературою, визначається його специфіка на композиційно-сюжетному, ідейно-тематичному, художньо-образному рівнях організації тексту. Ключові слова: інтертекстуальність, інтертекстуальний діалог, неовікторіанський роман, роман- дописування, автор. The article presents the analysis of the neo-Victorian text of the sequel to J. Austen’s novel Sanditon and includes the study of intertextual dialogue between the Victorian literature, presented by Jane Austen’s novels, and postmodern literature, presented by the sequel to her uncompleted novel. The research is based on the dialogic principle, suggested by M. Bachtin, and developed by J. Kristeva and R. Barthes, Genette’s typology of the types of relationships existing between two or more texts. The study shows that the intertextual dialogue between novel Sanditon and its sequel exists on the level of the plot and composition, the theme (themes) and main ideas, characters, ideographic style. The modern author follows the composition of the first eleven chapters of the novel written by J. Austen, and keeps to the original setting: the actions take place in the same city (Sanditon) during the same time period. In the sequel we can find the same set of characters, both main and minor, and some them undertook certain development and transformation. Thus, Another Lady made the main character, Charlotte, act and think more like Elizabeth Bennett, rather than Catherine Morland, whom she had resembled at the very beginning. In the sequel, we can observe the same methods of characterization, deep psychological observations, and the use of non-personal direct speech. In the course of the analysis, we could see that the modern author keeps to the system of values, established in Jane Austen’s novels, appeals to the same «eternal» topics: love and friendship, human dignity and respect to others.
