and Pedagogical University, Vladimir Polyakov "Partisan movement in Crimea. 1941–1944". In the present
review, Professor Dmitry Ursu analyzes the significance of the book and its contribution to the scientific study of
the history of the guerrilla movement. The author makes a detailed analysis of known studies on the guerrilla
movement and emphasizes the originality and novelty of the scientific work of Vladimir Polyakov. Primarily due
to the fact that in addition to attracting the widest range of previously unknown archival material, involved a
large circle of narrative documents, including oral memories of participants of events.
Vladimir Polyakov managed to approach the study of the organization of the partisan movement in Crimea with
new, modern products. First of all, from the standpoint of management. He first showed convincingly that the
organization of the guerrilla movement was allocated only one week. The basis of the formation of groups was
laid vicious party – nomenclature method. Groups were formed not from the local community, which explains
the lack of communication with the public. Caught in the woods military leadership refused to take partisan
detachments, and because they were forced to take food by force from the population that gave rise to the
conflict partisans – the inhabitants of the mountain villages. First author of the book considered the everyday
life of the Crimean guerrillas, including the previously taboo subjects such as the conflict in the leadership of the
guerrilla movement. With new products considered objective Crimean aspect in the partisan movement in
Crimea. First considered forms and motifs of collaboration. All this is done on the basis of specific examples
from the life of the occupied Crimea.
