In this article a study and develop recommendations for the development and application of
information technology in the banking sector to increase their efficiency with the current level of development of
the banking system. The main functional areas of application of banking information technology are:
information technology for accounting; information technology for management accounting and strategic
planning; information technology for the transmission of information; reengineering and improvement of credit
institutions. The main economic mechanisms of IT in banks include the following mechanisms: investment
management in IT; budget planning; distribution of costs by departments; Comparative analysis of costs;
structural analysis of the costs; trend analysis of costs; IT value management. It should be noted that in addition
to the need to pay great attention to the economy of IT through the mechanisms described is very important
finishing the analysis of economic aspects of IT to senior and middle management, so they, along with the IT
director should be the consumers of this information.
