This article discusses the steps and components forming the strategy of innovative development of the
region, including an analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and competitive advantages of the region, and
information support of innovative projects, a matrix of strategies, explained its elements.
The tools of strategy forming for innovative development of the region as a set of goals, objectives and means of
achieving them, and solutions allows you to develop strategies set, using the key factors of modern socioeconomic
development. The authors used the tools of strategic marketing for the analysis of the region, was
constructed a "Diamond competitive advantage" by Michael Porter which shows the main points of strategy
trajectory. Innovative projects, regardless of their content and scope, need information support at all stages of
development: from concept to full implementation, which will be included in the development plan and secure
funding. Information support has several aspects: language, informative and advertising and marketing.
Components of the strategy of innovative development of the region are economic growth, innovation
infrastructure, sustainable development and information.
