Generation of MeV -energy protons in WWER reactor core

The spectrum of fast protons, generated by fast neutrons of WWER-1000 reactor core in water, has been calculated using the Monte Carlo method. The main mechanism of fast proton generation in the moderator is found to be elastic scattering of fast neutrons on hydrogen nuclei. Fast p...
