Ідея створення Екологічної Конституції Землі грунтується на науковому аналізі глобальних еколого-економічних проблем сучасності, які стосуються усіх країн світу. Її реалізація має стати інструментом розв'язання цих проблем шляхом узгодження способу виробництва матеріальних благ і послуг із законами природи. Наука повинна зробити все можливе, щоб переконати національні уряди і транснаціональні компанії якомога швидше і радикально змінити своє ставлення до природного життєвого середовища та його ресурсів.
