Zusammenfassung:The article analyzes the international situation, which is increasingly defined by conflicts and wars; this, in particular, is clearly shown by the example of Russia's aggressive behavior. It projects the development of world processes in 2024, with the expected possibility of the outbreak of a large-scale clash. This, in its turn, dictates getting extra weapons, the USA opposition to attempts by China and the Russian Federation to undermine the world order. Hence the author's conclusion: Fukuyama's concept of the "end of history" gives way to Huntington's theory of the "clash of civilizations." Consequently, the need arises to develop new rules of the world coexistence. The article examines the USA’s prospects of remaining an informal empire of the modern world, the potential and opportunities of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation to challenge the United States and shape their own global course. In this regard, the article draws attention to the problem of political leadership, crisis in it, and the return of authoritarian personalities as a feature of the modern age as well as to the increasingly frequent public interest in non-systemic politicians, despite the fact that they are inclined to authoritarianism. The author expresses a warning about the inevitability of the augmenting conflict potential in the world, the danger that the future history will be increasingly "written" in human lives.
