Drones began to be actively used at a certain stage of the development of science and technology, and they combined the latest achievements in various fields of science and advanced technologies. At the same time, the development of jet engines and electric motors, the creation of remote and automatic control systems, the emergence of a new elemental base, the progress in optical-electronic, electronic-computing and digital technology, global navigation satellite systems and the possibility of placing weapons on unmanned aerial vehicle, as well as the utilization of artificial intelligence’s advantages determined the prospectiveness of development and the relevance of the use of unmanned aircrafts in military affairs. У статті наведено результати дослідження особливостей розвитку безпілотної авіації військового призначення в площині науково-технічного прогресу. Безпілотники почали активно використовувати на певному етапі розвитку науки і техніки, і вони поєднали в собі найсучасніші досягнення різних галузей науки і новітніх технологій. При цьому розвиток двигунів на реактивній тязі та електричних моторів, створення систем дистанційного та автоматичного керування, поява нової елементної бази, прогрес оптико-електронної, електронно-обчислювальної та цифрової техніки, глобальних навігаційних супутникових систем і можливість розміщення на безпілотному літальному апараті засобів ураження, а також застосування переваг штучного інтелекту зумовили перспективність розвитку та актуальність використання безпілотної авіації у військовій справі.
