The socio-psychological reasons for the transition or non-transition of young people from Russian to Ukrainian are considered. The results of the study show that Ukrainian youth began to abandon everything related to Russia, including the language due to a clear perception of the Russian as the language of the enemy. The differences between the changes in the linguistic behavior of young people after the onset of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014 and after the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022 are outlined. У доповіді на матеріалі мовних біографій проаналізовано зміни мовної поведінки молоді під час повномасштабної російсько-української війни. Розглянуто соціально-психологічні причини переходу або непереходу молоді з російської мови на українську. Результати дослідження свідчать, що українська молодь почала відмовлятися від усього, що пов’язано з Росією, зокрема й мови через чітке сприйняття російської мови як мови ворога. Окреслено відмінності між змінами мовної поведінки молоді після початку російсько-української війни у 2014 р. та після повномасштабного російського вторгнення у 2022 р.
