The challenges and risks faced by the socio-economic sphere of the country, in particular in the field of energy, as well as by the academic fundamental science as a result of Russian aggression, are analyzed. The role of science as the intellectual basis of the socio-economic, political and military power of the state is emphasized. It is noted that the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine is developing a new scientific direction — fundamental energy engineering. The main trends of energy development in Europe and the world are considered in the context of economic threats, price policy, resource base, energy conversion technologies and final low-carbon energy use. Attention is focused on the beginning of the global energy crisis in the world, and approaches to mitigating its negative impact on the world economy are proposed. |
