Visnyk of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine| Zusammenfassung: | The report is dedicated to the obtained at the Institute for Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of the NAS of Ukraine results of comprehensive research on cryodamage mechanisms, the natural resistance of biological objects to the action of cold, the creation of effective means for artificial protection of biological systems of various levels of organization, and the development on this basis of novel technologies for cryopreservation of biological objects, creation of cryobanks for long-term preservation of human, animal and plant gene pools. One of the Institute’s important tasks is obtaining and cryopreservation of stem cells and tissue engineering structures developed on their basis for further use in medical practice.
