The filaments of the species were found in a pond in the Feofania Park in Kyiv, where they were present in small quantities in metaphyton in a sterile condition. The reproductive stages (akinets) which are required for identifying these filaments to the generic and species levels were obtained during storage of the selected sample under room conditions. A morphological description of the identified specimens, photomicrographs, characteristics of location are given. The general distribution of the species was analyzed. The genus Pithophora Wittrock is thermophilic, widespread in subtropics and tropics. Its growth in the temperate climate zone is atypical. Our record is the second one from the territory of Ukraine, as well as one of the northernmost locations of this species in reservoirs without artificial water heating. Робота присвячена знахідці в Україні нитчастої зеленої водорості Pithophora roettleri (Roth) Wittrock. Вид виявлений у ставку парку «Феофанія» (м. Київ) у незначній кількості, в метафітоні, в стерильному стані. Необхідні для визначення до родового й видового рівнів стадії розмноження (акінети) отримані при зберіганні відібраної проби в кімнатних умовах. Наведено морфологічний опис знайдених зразків, мікрофотографії, характеристика мізцезростання. Проаналізовано загальне поширення виду. Рід Pithophora Wittrock є теплолюбним, поширеним у субтропічних та тропічних умовах. Його зростання в помірній кліматичній зоні є нетиповим. Наша знахідка є другою на території України, а також одним з найпівнічніших місцезнаходжень цього виду у водоймах без штучного підігріву води. M.G.
