| description | The history of the creation of the Iron and Steel Institute (ISI) is given. It is shown, that the creation and establishment of the Institute was determined by the need to develop the country's ferrous metallurgy. The Institute has united groups of metallurgical scientists, scattered in their activities, who worked in various institutes of the country. The program of the ISI, despite its youth, was wide and relevant, which can be explained by the experience, initiative and scale of the activities of the scientists who headed the departments of the Institute. The origins of the creation of the scientific themes of the Institute, which covered all the major redistribution of the steel industry, are given. The major scientific developments created by the Institute staff for the first time in world and domestic practice, which currently form the basis of world metallurgy, are given. Outstanding scientists of the Institute created quite a few scientific schools, which even today continue to make an invaluable contribution to the development of scientific subjects, the implementation of the results of basic and applied research in metallurgical enterprises. The analysis shows that the strategic direction of development of the domestic metallurgy in the future is an evolutionary change in metallurgical technologies. In this regard, the main areas of scientific and technical support of blast furnace, steelmaking and rolling production, heat treatment of rolled products developed at the Institute are given. Examples of modern scientific developments of the Institute are given.
The research areas of the Iron and Steel Institute of Z.I. Nekrasov of the NAS of Ukraine cover the whole range of problems in the production of metal products, due to which they are complex, which is a very important advantage in the modern world. The ISI has a serious scientific potential for the latest modern technological and technical solutions for domestic metallurgical production, which at the development stage are adapted to the technological and raw material conditions existing in Ukraine and their changes. Most of the new developments in technological content and intellectual level of implementation are not inferior to world analogues. |

Показано, що створення і становлення Інституту визначалося необхідністю розвитку чорної металургії країни. Інститут об'єднав розрізнені у своїй діяльності групи вчених-металургів, які працювали в різних інститутах країни. Програма робіт ІЧМ, незважаючи на його молодість, була широка і актуальна, що можна пояснити досвідом, ініціативністю і масштабністю діяльності вчених, які очолили відділи Інституту. Наведено витоки створення наукової тематики Інституту, що охоплювала всі основні переділи чорної металургії. Описано наукові розробки, створені співробітниками Інституту вперше в світовій і вітчизняній практиці, які в даний час складають основу світової металургії. Видатними вченими Інституту було створено чимало наукових шкіл, які і сьогодні продовжують вносити неоціненний внесок у розвиток наукової тематики, реалізацію результатів фундаментальних і прикладних досліджень на металургійних підприємствах. Аналіз показує, що стратегічним напрямом розвитку вітчизняної металургії на перспективу є еволюційна зміна металургійних технологій. У зв'язку з цим наведено основні напрями науково-технічного супроводу технологій доменного, сталеплавильного і прокатного виробництва, термічної обробки прокату, що розвиваються в Інституті. Наведено приклади сучасних наукових розробок Інституту. Напрями наукових досліджень Інституту чорної металургії ім. З.І. Некрасова НАН України охоплюють широке коло проблем виробництва металопродукції, завдяки чому мають комплексний характер, що є дуже важливою перевагою в сучасному світі. ІЧМ має серйозний науковий потенціал новітніх сучасних технологічних і технічних рішень для вітчизняного металургійного виробництва, що вже на стадії розробки адаптуються до існуючих в Україні технологічних і сировинних умов та їх змін. Більшість нових розробок за технологічним змістом і інтелектуальнем рівнем реалізації не поступаються світовим аналогам.
