Foundry production, as an integral part of the industrial complex, the products of which are almost irreplaceable, fully corresponds to the main trends of the future revival and development of the industrial sector of the Ukrainian economy. Thelatest industrial strategies involve moving away from the agrarian-raw material model to creating modern, high-tech,  nowledge-intensive production. The integration of foundry production into future transformative economic processes will require foundry experts to have a strategic vision of the basic principles of structural and production transformations. This is, first of all, an assessment of the state of the industrial complex of Ukraine, which has been formed over the past decades, an introduction to the basic concepts of industrial development, the importance of science in supporting and forming the basis for future changes, and the special role of a new institutionally capable industrial policy in implementing the industrial development strategy. It is emphasized that the future economic model is an innovative model that will require foundries to create their own innovative industry system, taking into account the specifics of foundry production and accumulated knowledge and experience. The strategic vision of attracting investment resources to the industry should be based on a system of development and implementation of scientific and production projects as one of the main sources of forming industry priorities and implementing and adjusting development plans.
