Резюме:The article analyses the existing production capacities, technical condition and capabilities, prospects and ways of restoring the potential of the mining and metallurgical complex (MMC) of Ukraine in the post-war period in strategic and practical aspects. It is shown that the problem of reviving the potential and efficiency of the MMC of Ukraine, as the main financial donor of the state, will come to the fore in the post-war period. The main task of the MMC will be to fill the budget of Ukraine. Despite the fact that the ownership of strategic facilities in the mining and metals sector is held by private entities, the activities of the Ukrainian steel industry must be in line with Ukraine's national interests. Ukraine has powerful plants that provide a full cycle of steel production. At the first stage of restoring the production potential of Ukraine's steel and mining industry, there will be no fundamental changes, shifts, or improvements in the composition of equipment and technology of the metallurgical cycle. The main technological route for steel production will remain the blast furnace — converter. The foundry will be responsible for providing metal products for the infrastructure of Ukraine. The article shows that the factor stimulating the development of foundry production in Ukraine is the availability of scrap metal resources for smelting synthetic pig iron in induction furnaces. The strategy for reviving the development of Ukraine's mining and metals sector in the post-war period should include several stages. Firstly, it is necessary to organise the production of steel products at the facilities of existing enterprises to rebuild the country's infrastructure through the implementation of urgently needed, yet short-term and relatively low-cost measures. The next stages of development of the MMC should include a balanced combination of both modernising existing facilities and technologies and equipping the industry with state-of-the-art production facilities. The metallurgical industry has a crucial role to play in the reconstruction and post-war development of Ukraine.
