Economics and Law| Summary: | The article studies legal aspects of the spatial development of an industrial region which imply the growth of its competitiveness and reduction of threats of the ecological crisis. It is shown that the spatial development of the industrial region should be based on the policy oriented to the modernization of enterprises through the introduction of innovations and creation of urban agglomerations. The necessity of drafting a special law “On Urban Agglomerations in Ukraine” is grounded.
