The article compares Ukraine’s energy efficiency indicators with those of other countries, analyzes the factors that cause low energy efficiency of the national economy of Ukraine, shows the sectoral structure of the economy of Ukraine, makes a decomposition analysis of index of changes in energy consumption in Ukraine for 2002–2011.
