| description | The article considers qualitative and quantitative approaches to assessing the economic security of an enterprise, and their typing is performed on various grounds. There are given the basic criteria by which the object of evaluation is determined. Methods (tools), approaches and groups in assessing the economic security of enterprises, organizations and institutions are systematized and generalized.The purpose of article is to generalize the main approaches and methods in the in the field of assessing the economic security of the enterprise.For quantitative / qualitative research of the enterprise economic security system one can apply different methods. Risks of external and internal environment are forcing enterprises, organizations, institutions to adapt and to form protection systems. The enterprises’ economic security systems are aimed precisely at ensuring effective activity and further growth and development. The functioning of these systems requires taking into account the existing state of the enterprise and constant monitoring of any changes. Adequate assessment of the company economic security, the effectiveness of the system or the activities of the relevant structural unit helps to respond promptly and make the necessary adjustments, make effective management decisions.The external and internal environment is dynamic, volatile, constantly affecting the economic security system and the enterprise as a whole. It is because of this influence that it is impossible to fully predict the state of the enterprise in the future. But together with retrospective calculations at a certain point in the management of the company economic security, it seems necessary to constantly take into account the strategy and mission of the company, sectoral features, determine the effectiveness of the activity and economic potential, etc. And for assessment, one should use several groups of methods and approaches to get the most complete information on the state of the enterprise economic security.
