У роботі охарактеризовано склад інтродуцентів, що формують колекційний фонд дендропарку «Асканія-Нова», означено групи деревних у зв' язку з їх екологічною стійкістю. Наведено відомості про вплив абіотичних та біотичних чинників на життєдіяльність рослин, запропоновано для використання стійкі до шкідників види. Зазначено тенденції трансформації фітоценотичної структури деревостанів старого парку. Описано напрямки роботи зі збереження колекційних насаджень та рідкісних рослин різних рівнів охорони.
