Summary:Adsorption of poly(1‑vinyl‑2‑pyrrolidone) and methylene blue dye on the surface of high disperse amorphous silica was studied. Possibilities of synthesis of chemically bound quaternary ammonium groups of various chemical composition and structure were demonstrated. It has been shown that ionic (between quaternary ammonium cation of sorbent and anion of cholic acid) and hydrophobic (between hydrophobic area of sorbent and steroid skeleton of cholic acid) interactions play the decisive role in the process of cholic acid adsorption on silica surface.
