Description
Summary:Formation of silica nano- and microparticles during growth by modified St?ber-Fink-Bohn method has been studied. The density of opal matrices has been found experimentally to decrease (whereas their porosity increases) with their growth in diameter within 70 to 2200 nm. We propose a model of particle structure designed as a dense primary core and concentric secondary shells terminated by layers of dense primary particles. A model has been proposed for the micelle structure of colloidal silica in an alcohol-water-ammonia medium.
