Description
Summary:The adsorption of biogenic amines (agmatine, histamine, tyramine, tryptamine), amino acids (arginine, lysine, tyrosine), and dipeptides (lysylphenylalanine and arginylphenylalanine) has been studied on fumed silica surface modified with macrocyclic polyether dibenzo-18-crown-6. The apparent binding constants of biomolecule complexes with crown ether fastened to the surface have been calculated according to obtained adsorption isotherms. It has been shown that the binding constants of aromatic amines and dipeptides with crown ether are higher than those of aliphatic compounds. The presence of additional basic groups in arginine and lysine molecules leads to the formation of more stable complexes with crown ether in comparison with that of tyrosine.
