Description
Summary:The influence of mechanochemical and following thermal treatment in air and in water on the interaction of lithium carbonate and hydroxide with niobium pentoxide possessing different specific surface area has been studied. Reaction products have been studied by the help of XRD, DTA-TG, FT-IR, and nitrogen adsorption. It has been found that high-energy mechanochemical treatment promotes partial transformation of lithium carbonate and niobium oxide into lithium methaniobate as well as activation of reagents which facilitates their interaction at the stage of thermal treatment. Similar results have been obtained for the lithium hydroxide – niobium oxide system. Porous lithium methaniobate has been synthesized with high specific surface area.
