Summary:The interaction of tetracycline and metacycline with high disperse silica has been investigated by adsorption, IR spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. The results obtained testify the preferable mechanism of tetracycline adsorption on high disperse silica surface to consist in formation of hydrogen bonds between oxygen atoms of amide groups of adsorbed molecules and non-dissociated silanol groups.
