Food Industry Economics| Zusammenfassung: | The article substantiates the conceptual principles for determining directions for ensuring food security of Ukraine in the conditions of modern global socio-economic transformations. The number of people facing acute food insecurity and in need of urgent life-saving food assistance and livelihood support has been identified as continuing to grow at an alarming rate. The war in Ukraine has negative consequences for global food systems, as well as higher food and fertilizer prices. It has been proven that since the combined short-term impact of food and energy prices continues to grow, food insecurity, exacerbated by Ukraine's growing debt burden, will have devastating consequences for a significant part of the population. It has been justified that alleviating the manifestation of the crisis factors of food security requires, first of all, coordinated and immediate emergency humanitarian assistance by all interested parties - the government, development institutions and banks, nongovernmental organizations and private companies in order to meet the most urgent needs of people through the provision of humanitarian assistance, including food, financial support, seeds, resources, tools and technical assistance to support sustainable intensification in Ukraine and other crop substitution actions. The need to develop the solution that concerns both globally traded and domestically produced goods has been substantiated to prevent the continuation or worsening of the global food crisis. Any solution must include preventive actions aimed at giving the most vulnerable people the means to ensure their own food security in the medium term. The preventive measures to ensure food security in Ukraine in terms of levers (consumption, agricultural potential, financial support, policy) and institutions for their implementation (donor countries and exporters; countries that have experienced a food crisis; multilateral organizations and development institutes; public organizations and social sector; private sector) have been presented. It has been determined that the further implementation of innovative technologies, business models and data exchange mechanisms will make it possible to make the production of food products in Ukraine more effective on the basis of establishing cooperation between the branches of the national economy and the government for the exchange of data on production, accumulation, supply chain and other relevant data through information centers. |
