Food Industry Economics| Summary: | The theoretical aspects and meaningful characteristics of the sustainable development of the agrifood sphere have been highlighted. The importance of the role of interdisciplinary approaches to solving socially important tasks has been emphasized, including ensuring the sustainable development of the agri-food sphere. The notion of scientific methodology has been conceptually described. It has been noted that the quality of the methodology directly affects the quality of the scientific research. It has been shown that it is the systemic change of methodology that will associate theoretical prospects with the applied logic of the scientific research. The ways of implementing the methodology of the comprehensive approach to the sustainable development of the agri-food sphere have been created. It has been noted that the comprehensive approach to the management of sustainable development of the agri-food sphere should be based on the principles of organization of spatial development, activation of innovative component, increase of production of high-tech products, acceleration of the introduction of resource-saving technologies, step-by -step improvement in the quality of life of the country's population. It has been noted that an important aspect of sustainable development of the agri-food sphere is diversification of activities in rural areas and green tourism. Perspective directions of further scientific research in this area have been identified.
