Agrarian education is a driver of agricultural development. The present status, challenges, and future outlook of agricultural science development and the training of experienced specialists – agrarians, have been studied. It has been determined that Ukrainian agriculture has the ability to realize significant potential only under the condition of training young people with a high moral and ethical level, who share the world values of sustainable development and care for the environment that is important for full entry into the global food market. The value orientations of the further development of agricultural education institutions within the framework of training a qualified contingent to participate in sustainable, ecologically oriented, circular and socially responsible types of agrarian business have been supported. The findings of the study are applicable for educational institutions that are looking for new approaches to management and seek to increase the competitiveness of their intellectual products in modern conditions of increased risks and the transition to the concept of sustainable development. The responsible social, ecological and economic strategy of educational institutions and business entities is necessary from the perspective concerning global and national development objectives. With the goal of strengthening the global positions of sustainable development, the publication has identified the main shortcomings, in particular, in the field of depopulation, progressive shortage of qualified personnel, unsatisfactory environmental and social components, and has defined measures that will allow to positively influence the processes of the post-war revival of Ukraine's economy. The trends, priorities and value orientations discerned through the research are for further solving the task of improving the quality of training of agricultural specialists, which will positively affect the effectiveness  of domestic agrarian business and attain the objectives of sustainable agricultural development and its competitive place in the global agro-food market.
